Full Job Description

As a Senior MI Developer & Analyst you will be working with key stakeholders to specify, develop, design and produce high quality MI and reporting to support key projects and strategic initiatives.


You will be driving efficiencies through data analysis and continuous improvement, ensuring the quality of existing reporting through automation, maintenance and review. 


To be successful in this role you need to have good understanding of the business environment, excellent technical skills and have strong customer service and stakeholder management skills. 



Key accountabilities


  • Specification, design and development of purpose built Operational MI solutions to meet internal Business and Customer needs.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to find innovative solutions for Operational Business data requests in order to enable effective decision making.
  • Comply with and drive up-to-date data storage regulation and principles – PCI-DSS, GDPR and internal Data Governance policy.
  • Create class-leading outputs and provide analytical insight to drive Operational improvements.
  • Drive Operational excellence through the delivery of fact based, data driven reporting and to become a Subject Matter Expert in the field of insightful Operational MI across Customer Services and Collections.
  • Understand and develop the MI infrastructure to provide accurate & timely Operational data from source systems.
  • Ownership of projects and associated stakeholder relationships, working in line with internal control and governance practice.
  • Embed MI best practice into every day culture – understanding its use, value, purpose and to ensure it supports business decisions.
  • Undertake maintenance ensuring fixes are in place within agreed SLAs to minimise operational & cost impact and use learning to identify improvements and tactical fixes to MI and systems.
  • Share best practice across the MI Team to drive our NewDay Manifesto.
  • Shared accountability for Database administration (DBA tasks) accountability for the performance, integrity and security of all MI databases. Involvement in the planning, development and optimisation of the MI SQL Servers as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of users.


Requirements


  • Extensive experience- SQL Server 2012/2014/2016 databases and SSIS (ETL)
  • SQL Server BI Stack – Specifically SSRS
  • Stakeholder Management and influencing skills
  • Working knowledge of at least one BI Reporting Tool (e.g. Tableau, Qlikview etc.)
  • Advanced user of Excel 2013/2016
  • Data analysis/problem solving skills and the ability to present findings effectively
  • Commitment to quality and excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)


Desirable


  • Experience or interest in building/maintenance applications in ASP.NET (C# or VB.Net)
