Full Job Description
This person will be based in the E&P Infrastructure team. Due to
the portfolio moving forward and the specific skillsets in Building
Services, someone at senior level is preferred.
Typical
Functions:
Required to support the mechanical infrastructure
and building services engineering of infrastructure and
accommodation/welfare projects across site acting as intelligent
customer
Role will be embedded as part of a
multi-disciplinary infrastructure project team responsible for the
delivery of a portfolio of projects across Urenco UK assets. Duties
would typically include:
• Production of user requirements,
scope of works documents, specifications, tender packages
•
Production of design management plans and review of extant procedures
• Grading and categorisation of projects/systems – quality,
hazard, environmental impact, complexity
• Identify
constraints and statutory requirements
• Draft RFQs, review
responses
• Respond to RFIs/TQs
• Undertake
feasibility studies, optioneering assessments
• Undertake
scoping and incept initial design solutions
• Undertake
scoping and detailed design calculations
• Address and
propose solutions to address green credentials/net-zero targets for
systems and projects
• Follow and implement safe system of
works
• Review of 3rd party produced design packages
• Acceptance of contractor design documentation
•
Day-to-day management of contractor technical delivery
•
Lead and input to design reviews - single/multi-discipline
•
Experience of working with risk management procedures
•
Working as part of a close knit project team liaising with other
disciplines
Experience Required:
HND in an appropriate
engineering discipline. Degree preferred: Building Services or
similar.
A minimum of 7 years’ experience as a design engineer
for consultant or D&B contractor
• Typically, an all-rounder
with good practical knowledge of piped services (domestic hot and cold
water, foul water drainage, misc’ piped services including LTHW, CHW,
refrigerants, condensate, natural gas) and also of ventilation, air
conditioning/comfort cooling (VRF, fan coil systems/CHW).
•
A background in nuclear ventilation and services design engineering is
not essential for the role in the Infrastructure Design Team.
• A sound knowledge of design principles and project procedures
from inception to handover and close-out is required.
• Good
knowledge of standards and statutory requirements (e.g. Building
Regulations, Water regulations, Gas Regulations) is desirable.
• An ability to create solutions, review and adapt.
•
Ability or appreciation of Autocad usage.
• Some knowledge
of 3D modelling would be advantageous: Revit, Navisworks, Inventor.
