The Senior NLP Engineer is responsible for developing AI Labs’ NLP/machine learning platform. In this role, they will write, test, and release code and internal libraries according to the NLP roadmap and release plans. They will work collaboratively with the Head of Machine Learning Product, application engineering, data science and NLP Tech Lead to set the overall vision, goals, and execution plan. They will also be consulted by customer-facing project leads and data science in the analysis of customer data and development of NLP models to address clinical or business use cases.

Skills

Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Deep Learning, building and deploying NLP systems

Strong CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems

Proficiency in statistical NLP algorithms, including transformers, graphical models, and information retrieval techniques

Python and scientific computing packages (pytorch, numpy, scikit-learn, tensorflow)

Database technologies including ElasticSearch, Neo4j, and SQL

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning

Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail

Willingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamwork.

Knowledge and Experience :

Experience with the following tools: Git, Github, scientific computing packages (pytorch, numpy, tensorflow), AWS S3, AWS EC2, JIRA, Confluence, Docker

Experience in software engineering writing production-ready code

Experience conducting and publishing research in NLP or Machine Learning

Up to date with state of the art in NLP and Machine Learning

Education:

Educated to Master’s or PhD level in engineering or computer science or other relevant qualification/experience.
