Senior Network Engineer – Farnborough (GU14) – Perm – Full Time

  • Salary £38,000 to £52,000

Our Digital Services Group (DSG) is a diverse business unit that provides a full spectrum of digital capabilities and is responsible for satisfying the technological requirements of the most secure settings. They have a favourable influence on national security initiatives for the United Kingdom and its strategic partners throughout the world. 

Joining forces with our Electronic Warfare Operations Support Group (EWOS), which is made up of over 60 electronic warfare professionals from a variety of backgrounds. We are assembling a new team, led by our Principal Solution Architect, in a cutting-edge test and assessment facility at a client site in Farnborough.

Reporting to our Lead IT Engineer, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your abilities and expertise as a senior network engineer. This network will use your VPN and WAN network skills to operate across many geographic locations. Travelling to various MASS sites, delivering projects to agreed deadlines and in accordance with the change management process.

The invaluable experience you’ll bring

Acting as a mentor you will coach colleagues with less experience. Using your extensive knowledge of Windows Server and Network Architecture experience to maintain and help develop the IT infrastructure of revolutionary defence systems. Demonstrating your multi-vendor network and IT system experience whilst providing 3rd line support to meet the demands of the business. Providing you with exposure to cutting edge technologies and industry-leading practises.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience with Advanced Routing and Switch protocols across multiple vendors including Cisco and Fortinet.
  • Experience with Windows server technologies such as Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Working knowledge of Virtualization technologies including Hyper-V and VMWare.
  • Extensive experience with Next-Gen firewalls, including IPS and Advanced Threat Protection.

Nice to Haves

In addition, it would be nice to have one or more of the following abilities and be open to learning new technologies, such as:

  • Linux operating system
  • CCNA/CCNP Certified.
  • Veeam Software
  • Radio Frequency (RF) or Electronic Warfare (EW) technology

Due to the highly secure nature of the projects, you will be involved with, you must  be a UK National and  be eligible to undergo and maintain UK government SC security clearance.
