Position Description:

We’re looking for a passionate Network Security Engineer to help us deliver and run a suite of new technology solutions for the entire company. The Network Security Engineer role is accountable for delivering a variety of technical products, and usually works as part of the DevOps Team alongside other engineers and architects.

The Network Security Engineer will be part of the team that is responsible for the development and support of the Elanco’s Hybrid Cloud & Network Platform. DevOps Team works closely with the Technical Service Owners and Operations Team to constantly raise the reliability bar for our services, providing guidance for the adoption of modern technologies and zero-trust strategy in all stages of the service development life cycle.

Responsibilities:

• Crucial role in implementing security into network and connectivity solutions to improve our network infrastructure operations safety
• Contact role between InfoSec and TechOps teams to improve execution of network security design reviews by operational team
• Business IT consultancy to ensure introduction of services that are secured by design
• Deliver the day-to-day network security operations service in line with agreed policies, processes and procedures
• On-going policy review and adjustment to maintain and develop our security posture
• Evangelize a security mindset with our SRE/DevOps team
• Proactively research new and emerging technologies and approaches to enhance the network security posture of Elanco.
• Executing defined work packages.
• Creating and maintaining documentation artefacts to ensure our solutions are well recorded and simple to understand.
• Building enhancements and fixes where necessary.
• Ensuring the delivered solution meets not just technical, architecture and application principles, but also is compliant to our IT Security, Privacy and Quality needs.
• Running deep dive initiatives to help overcome major incidents, complex problems and/or realise opportunities.
• Actively building and staying abreast of emerging technologies, guiding teams on how to interpret and best leverage the emerging technologies.
• Engaging in the community (internally and externally) across multiple channels, looking to share, educate and inspire.

Experience:

• At least 5 years’ experience in network security engineering
• 5 years’ hands-on experience with next generation firewalls, which must include Palo Alto Networks, working in hybrid cloud environment
• Experience in designing and building technical solutions
• Knowledge of SASE and Software Defined Perimeter architectures
• Experience with implementing and maturing network security controls and procedures
• Strong hands-on experience in r outing, s witching, w ireless, segmentation, s ecurity/VPN
• Experience in Cisco SD-WAN solutions
• Familiar with Zero Trust Network and Zero Trust Edge adoption
• Experience with public cloud platforms (e.g. PaaS, IaaS, FaaS)
• Understanding of modern security architectures, e.g. micro-segmentation, application identity, distributed firewalls
• Strong communication skills with multiple examples of being able to convey complex ideas in a manner that resulted in a definitive direction and result
• Strong personal & work organisational skills

Nice to Have:

• Familiar with scripting and automation
• Experience within an infrastructure operations environment
• Cloud administration and architectural experience
• Experience in working in DevOps or DevSecOps team
• Strong passion about new technologies, new ideas and creative way of thinking
• CISSP or other security certifications

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate industry experience

Overseas travel may be required.
