Senior Detail Designer - Piping

BAE Systems, a leading Defence & Security company, is currently seeking a Senior Detail Designer with expertise in Piping Design to join their team. This is a contract position based at their Scotstoun site, offering a hybrid working arrangement of 3 days per week onsite. The role is expected to have a duration of 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed design work for piping systems
• Develop and modify 3D models and 2D drawings
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure design integration
• Create and update technical documentation and reports
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Contribute to design reviews and participate in problem-solving activities
• Support the project team throughout the entire design process
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in Piping Design within the Defence sector
• Proficiency in using relevant design software and tools
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
• Proven ability to meet project deadlines
• Previous experience in mentoring junior designers is preferred
