Full Job Description

£40k per annum

Permanent

36hrs a week

Hybrid working

* To be responsible to the Registered Manager for the effective management of the team, and the provision of a professional, child centred service in accordance with the relevant regulations, legislation, guidance, codes of practice, policy and procedures.

* To ensure that services are delivered in partnership with all key stakeholders so that children and young people’s assessed needs are met on a planned, holistic basis within a family setting.

* Deputise for the Registered Manager in some managerial tasks as appropriate.

* When required to do so, deputise for the RM by attending meetings on their behalf or in any other way perform delegated management tasks such as supervise social work and non-social work staff.

* To work with supervising social workers to deal with complex issues creatively and effectively, raising practice standards in order to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people placed within the agency.

* To provide a responsive service to emergency situations ensuring the safety and well being of the child. This may involve working outside core hours and being available for discussion, advice and decision making.

* Represent the organisation in cases where there is an allegation or standard of care concern: attend strategy meetings, liaise with other professionals and supporting supervising social workers

* Undertake annual and specific issue reviews of carers approval where requested to do so.

* To support the Registered Manager in the recruitment of foster carer’s in line with the agencies recruitment strategy.

* Maintain comprehensive records, as required by the Fostering Services Regulations, the National Minimum Standards for fostering and Fostering Options’ own policies and procedures.

* To take part in an office duty system.

* To take part in the out of hours duty service.

* Undertake any other duties which may be appropriate, dependent upon the post holder’s areas of expertise, knowledge and skills, and with regard to the level of responsibility afforded by the post held
