Role description:

Given the growth and expansion of our Rail South business area, we are needing a Senior/Principal Design Engineer – E&P Traction Power who will be responsible for providing technical leadership for assigned projects ensuring successful delivery for the mechanical and public health team.

Role accountabilities:

You will be contributing technical leadership at a subject level (including LV, HV distribution, traction HV systems, Sustainable Technologies, Renewable Energy systems, etc.). The role also covers line management responsibilities for the development and performance management of team members, influence and lead the development and growth through strategic inputs, bringing market intelligence, develop bidding process, skill development, mentoring and bringing required talent and manage the evaluation of technical competence of staff proposed projects and identify specific training or any mentoring needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

•   Competencies of HV traction power and distribution of AC & DC traction power systems. 
•   Experienced E&P CRE with in depth Design management experience on rail projects.
•   Proven ability in delivering to take the role of CRE or CEM on projects and deliver high quality designs on time and to budgetary constraints. 
•   UK Railway experience with an in-depth knowledge of traction power systems and Network Rail’s Grip Design Processes and Procedures on projects.
•   Demonstrated ability in leadership across geographically dispersed teams.
•   Technology enabled and experience of project delivery in 3D BIM environments, including use of common data environments such as ProjectWise.
•   Traction power AC or DC design capabilities and able to take CRE role.
•   Good experience on EMC, Harmonics and HV earthing system.
•   Electrical Power Engineering Degree.
•   Chartered Engineer (CEng) is a plus.
