Position Summary & Objective

Through its Anti-Piracy detection and enforcement product suite, OpSec protects digital content against piracy on behalf of rights holders within film and television, live sports, publishing, software, games, and music. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic  Senior Product Manager to join us in the quest to fight illegal distribution of copyrighted content.

This role will be responsible for assessing current and future market requirements, building strategic product and service roadmaps, and driving go-to-market strategy through understanding and prioritizing customer segments, designing appropriate pricing and service models, and ongoing product lifecycle management. Through product discovery and development with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Sales, Service Operations, Marketing, and others) and externally with customers and prospects, this role actively drives customer satisfaction and translates important market feedback for product planning.

The Senior Product Manager will demonstrate a multi-faceted approach to product management, evidencing aspects of both technical product management (e.g., roadmap ownership) and commercial product management (e.g., pricing strategy).

Essential Functions Performed by the Position  

  • Define and perform market discovery and validation activities and distill findings to inform the definition of product strategy and roadmaps.  
  •   Create appropriate business plans to drive internal investment decisions
  •   Take responsibility for successful deployment of subsequent product activities
  • Utilize financial and other metrics to gauge the health of the product line and respond accordingly  
  • Define strategic product and service roadmaps, working closely with internal and external users  
  •   Drive go-to-market strategy through understanding and prioritizing customer buyer & user persona segments  
  • Identify key end-customer segments based on their requirements and our ability to serve them
  • Develop and maintain business partnerships that help support the product strategy  
  •   Serve as a product evangelist across Marketing, Sales, and Services organizations to help them understand the vision, roadmap, and best practices of the product offering  
  • Perform win/loss analysis to better understand customer assessment processes, customer perceptions of competitors and OpSec, and other critical customer insight. Distill findings into actionable product roadmaps and/or commercial strategies
  • Assess the competitive environment and recommend and enact competitive differentiation strategies, and/or commercial strategies
  •   Run internal stakeholder feedback sessions and drive cross-functional strategy planning groups  
  • Assess current and future customer challenges and opportunities to get ahead of technical design cycles for new products, features or solutions
  • Determine Beta and MVP process stages and milestones to involve customer feedback  
  • Successfully launch new products or features, including internal and external deployment planning and definition of KPIs, collaborating across stakeholders to ensure on-time, on-target launches
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  •   Directly customer-facing, with the ability to distill customer market problems into actionable product strategy
  •   Strong collaborator, responsible for achieving product objectives through working with both customers and wide-reaching internal stakeholders, from technology teams to marketing  
  • Adept at navigating technology-first conversations to identify and assess commercial and customer-driven implications and opportunities   
  • Strategic thinker, able to recognize market needs, distill strategy into executable initiatives, and crisply communicate and implement plans across the organization  
  • Ability to work across geographically distributed cross-functional teams  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex business and technical concepts to a wide range of audiences  
  •   Key attributes including being detail oriented, self-motivated, customer-centric, biased towards action, and able to lead without authority  
  •   Ability to occasionally work flexible hours with internal and external stakeholders in the United States, Europe, and Asia
  •   Demonstrated ability to stay up to date with piracy trends and techniques and think creatively to develop countermeasures to combat them
  • Experience with content identification technologies like fingerprinting, watermarking, machine learning, as well as with tools like Meta Rights Manager and YouTube Content ID is seen as a strong asset

 

Required Education and Experience

  •   Strong (4 yrs +) experience working within anti-piracy or related fields
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience  
  •   Over 4 yrs product management experience   
  •   Previous experience in directly customer-facing roles, with proven experience in managing customer requirement, customer discovery or feedback discussions
  •   Previous experience interacting with software development teams in an Agile environment
