Position: Senior Project Manager

Location: Workington, Cumbria

Salary: Negotiable, approximately £55,000 - £65,000 PA

Due to the Projects all employees must be British National, anyone outside this will not be considered.

Are you ready to take the next step in your Project Manager career? We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, preferably with a background in the nuclear industry, to contribute to a range of exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the management team to enhance project management practices across our engineering, manufacturing, and fabrication sectors.
  • Lead and develop the Project Services Team, overseeing staff competency and growth.
  • Professionally manage various design, manufacturing, and fabrication projects within Nuclear, Defence, and Industrial sectors, ensuring adherence to cost, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Uphold safety leadership, ensuring projects are executed without harm to individuals or the environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers to understand their needs and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively manage internal and supplier relationships.
  • Assume full project delivery and profit and loss accountability for managed projects (approximately £5-£10 million annually) in accordance with industry standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Project Managers, Planners, and Support Staff during project execution.
  • Deliver a consistent and high-quality project management service to clients.
  • Ensure project compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and enforce project change control procedures.
  • Manage and mitigate project risks and delivery conflicts.
  • Fulfil any other duties as necessary.

Qualifications/Experience/Attributes:

  • Chartered Engineer status preferred.
  • Background in Project Management with proven experience in overseeing multi-discipline projects through all phases.
  • Proficient in project management principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with project management planning, risk identification, and mitigation processes across diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated success in managing related projects.
  • Strong market and commercial acumen.
  • Experience leading teams in a project environment, including staff and apprentice support and development.
  • Knowledge of accounting and commercial processes.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental considerations in engineering.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance requirements and procedures.
  • IOSH Leading Safely certification.
  • Membership in a relevant Professional Institute desirable.
