Job Title: Senior Project Manager (Waste to Energy Combustion
Plant)
Location: Wilton Middlesbrough
Type: Permanent
Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 per annum (negotiable subject to experience)
A principal contractor with a growing track record in
managing hazardous waste chemical across the UK is seeking to appoint
an experienced and technically minded Senior Project Manager to
develop design and lead the build of a waste energy combustion plant &
associated works in Wilton, anticipated to commence mid-2024.
The
Waste to Energy Process Plant is estimated to complete in 3 years and
will be constructed under a iChemE Red Book Contract scope (Contractor
appointed). The remaining site infrastructure, which includes civils,
structural, mechanical & electrical will be managed by the principal
contractor. As such, this role is deal for a Senior Project Manager
with exposure to complex projects in the civils sector.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary liaison between client
and Contractors and ensure thorough review of all documentation
provided by contractors.
• Ensure compliance with Purchaser
requirements outlined in Schedule 3 of the Red Book Contract, covering
civil works, structural engineering, drainage, fire protection,
electricity, and water supply installation.
• Ensure contractors
adhere to environmental protection procedures in line with ISO14001
standards & adherence to health and safety protocols under CDM
Regulations, ensuring proper documentation.
• Review and approve
Spare Parts supply requirements ensuring to attend Factory Inspections
and Tests as necessary.
• Review and approve inspection and test
plans for equipment and works.
• Monitor cost and time progress
against the Approved Programme, addressing deviations.
• Review
and approve the Commissioning Plan and witness commissioning tests.
• Conduct inspections to confirm completion of works and
equipment for the W2E process plants readiness for Take Over Tests.
• Issue the Readiness to Receive Waste Certificate before
accepting waste delivery to the site.
• Monitor and oversee Take
Over Tests and Performance Tests to ensure achievement of agreed
Performance Parameters or request remedial actions to meet these
parameters.
Requirements:
• Degree qualified or
equivalent in a Construction-related discipline.
• Proven
experience as a Project Manager working on new build waste to energy
incinerators
• Comprehensive understanding of several contract
types of different contracts particularly FIDEC
• Experience
working as a client-side Project Manager with excellent client facing
experience
• Experience of liaising with key stakeholders around
planning applications and building regulations.
• Experience
running similar projects from inception to completion.
•
Commercially aware with good understanding of current market and
trading conditions.
• Strong attention to detail with strong
background of documenting actions agreed with key stakeholders.

sustainable waste solution for the industry.
