Full Job Description

Miryco Consultants are working with a leading insurer in the bulk annuity market to hire a new Senior Quantitative Analyst into their Technical Actuarial team, which reports into the CIO.



About The Role:


  • Provide quantitative expertise to the Technical and Actuarial Team within the wider Investment structure.
  • Act as lead model developer for a range of processes/tasks in the actuarial & investment functions.
  • Assist the Investment Team in the delivery of a variety of technical areas, including Pricing, Assets valuations, Optimisation and Actuarial concepts, such as the Matching Adjustment.
  • Work on new investment flows and the existing portfolio doing cash flow optimisation and contributing to MAP considerations.
  • Will work to make sure the group’s investments are securely managed, capital efficient and profitable.



Key Accountabilities:


  • Develop, maintain, and transform quantitative models within the Technical and Actuarial team.
  • Sitting within Group Pricing, contribute to the annual and quarterly new business pricing exercises. Involvement in the setting of the investment yield curves for in payment and deferred payment new business.
  • Compare and analyse investment activity against the business plan.
  • Help to develop and maintain a structure for assessing the ALM impact of investments that the ALM team will follow.
  • Contribute to the technical delivery of Solvency II (Solvency Capital Requirement and Fundamental Spread), IFRS balance sheet and liquidity impacts of investment activity.
  • Maintenance of tools for capital and balance sheet optimisation and asset eligibility assessment.



About You:


  • First Class or Upper Second Class degree in a numerate subject, ideally relevant to finance and/or investments.
  • Progress towards FIA or CFA preferred.
  • Good modelling skills, preferably in VBA & Python, with other languages such as R and Julia also desirable.
  • 4-7 years relevant experience within Financial Services, Asset Management, Insurance Investment or Investment Consulting.



Location: London



Salary: Up to £80,000 plus generous bonus.
