Exciting Opportunity: SeniorQuantity Surveyor
Our client, a well-established construction company specialisingin civil engineering, is on the lookout for an adept Senior Quantity Surveyor to bolster our team. If you possess a background in Construction or Civil Engineering, this role could be your next career milestone.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently administer the JCT Design & Build Contract, ensuring professionalism and timeliness.
- Spearhead the financial delivery of contracts, including cost control and cash management, to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Mentor and lead trainees, fostering a culture of growth and development within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overachieve budgeted targets by identifying Value Engineering (V/E) opportunities and exploring alternative methods for project completion.
- Ensure prompt submission of external valuations in line with main contract conditions, and manage payments to maintain the contract's cash flow.
- Produce accurate monthly CVR reports reflecting the current on-site status and final profit projections.
- Skillfully administer main contract conditions, prepare contractual notices promptly, and handle contract variations with precision to maximize entitlement.
- Procure supply chain orders promptly and accurately, valuing, certifying, and issuing relevant payment notices.
- Re-measure works in accordance with the method of measurement, ensuring accuracy and maximizing entitlement.
- Facilitate timely final account agreement on both client and supply chain accounts while nurturing strong working relationships.
- Lead and mentor junior surveyors, guiding them toward excellence in their roles.
- Undertake additional duties as delegated by the line manager, adhering to company procedures.
Experience/Knowledge:
- Seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor with comprehensive experience and qualifications.
- Proficiency in NEC & JCT form of contracts.
- Demonstrated success in delivering technically challenging projects to exceed client expectations.
- Proven track record of implementing plans/projects within budget and schedule.
- Strong ability to plan and manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Evidence of delivering high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
- Skilled in performance management and providing constructive feedback.
- Thorough understanding of current building legislation and political structures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related technical field (HND/HNC).
- Working towards professional qualification status (MCIOB/MRICS) is desirable.
