About the Client

The brand is a well-regarded global career and growth consultancy focused on the legal sector. With over 40 years of global experience, the business brings together recognised and trusted experts in legal search, coaching, strategy and resourcing to facilitate the vision and growth objectives of their clients. The team has placed partners and senior lawyers into a network of ‘best-in-class’ law firms spanning the US, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East.

The Senior Research Associate Opportunity

The role includes:

  • Taking the lead on large research tasks predominantly for the Lateral Partner search team including mapping complex international legal markets, and relevant firms, and identifying individual partners that fit the client’s brief ready for approach
  • Critical Research: conducting deep dives into the legal markets and relevant practice areas where the firm’s clients wish to grow their existing capabilities
  • Providing the Lateral Partner search team and International Legal division with market intelligence gathering on projects that can differ in complexity, topics and output requirements
  • Global Ownership: driving the firm’s legal intelligence agenda and helping to build out the internal market intelligence capabilities and organisational setup like processes, communications, knowledge management and training
  • Content Creation: Gathering sources from a global context, analysing them, and producing engaging, fun, and interesting content for our client base including blog posts, website content and LinkedIn posts
  • Data Synthesis & Reporting: Closely monitoring legal market trends, salary data, and performance data to produce market data reports for the firm’s global client list. Effectively presenting key research findings to other team members

Specific Requirements

  • You will have a background within legal research and data insights, possibly from a law firm or gained within the field of human resources, and recruitment. The successful individual may also come from a media background producing content for legal news publications or similar
  • We would also welcome applications from researchers and content creators for any providers of legal and regulatory intelligence or International Legal Analysis (for example LexisNexis, Westlaw, Thomson Reuters Legal Solutions and similar)
  • Some legal education and background preferred, but not essential
  • Excellent research skills, critical thinking, high attention to detail and a desire to become a Subject Matter Expert
  • A passion for delivering excellence in everything that you produce whether it’s a discrete market map or a complex market intelligence report for a key client
  • A keen interest in the global legal landscape
  • ‘Hands-on’ mentality with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure when needed
  • An engaging communication style: how you communicate your market knowledge to clients and candidates, is fundamental to how this firm adds value to its clients
