Role overview

As the largest qualitative team at Ipsos UK, we enable our private sector clients, across FMCG and Financial Services, to innovate and build their portfolio by understanding consumer motivations & providing recommendations to help maximise their sales. We deliver in-depth, human understanding of the drivers of consumer choice & behaviour. Our team deploy qualitative research methods, using traditional approaches such as focus groups & depth interviews, as well as engaging new digital tools, such as mobile diaries & online communities.

What will I be doing? 

  • Active involvement in account management with a focus on developing existing client relationships and new relationships through responding to briefs and developing responsibility for at least one client / work area.
  • Running projects, under supervision, so that they are delivered within budget, managing gross margin & profitability.
  • Helping to design innovative, winning proposals & pitch in response to complex, challenging briefs.
  • Managing the writing and setting up of qualitative discussion guides & pop-up community discussion flow.
  • Participating with moderation & fieldwork phases on UK projects, using projective and other advanced qualitative techniques; as well as management of larger, global studies.
  • Creating presentations and reports focused on insights weaving stories from data, providing clear & actionable recommendations.
  • Delivering end to end qual research from set-up, design and moderation of projects (UK and global).
  • Managing resources/workloads on projects effectively, provide project guidance, support and coaching to more junior team members.
  • Identifying opportunities and contributing to making Ipsos MORI ‘more famous’, e.g. press releases, publications, client events, appearing at conferences, etc.

Ipsos UK offers a hybrid working environment, 3 days in the office and working the rest from home. 

What do I need to bring with me?  

  • Prior qualitative research experience is essential with a good knowledge of the industry, including commercial understanding.
  • Thorough knowledge of principle ad hoc research techniques, including traditional & digital qualitative methodologies.
  • Receptivity & openness to working on all manner of commercial client accounts is essential.
  • The ability to work creatively and think commercially. Good storytelling skills are essential, as well as a working style that is flexible, innovative and analytical.
  • A quick learner who enjoys breaking down complex topics and briefs into a tangible, actionable research approach.
  • Client-facing experience and the ability to act as key client liaison on projects is essential.
  • Good project management, delegation and planning skills, good at multi-tasking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
