We are looking for a natural leader to support the Engineering Shift Manager at our client’s highly automated and busy distribution centre on the outskirts of Mansfield.
 
As an integral member of the automation team the role will be varied and still very much hands on working with the team carrying out planned maintenance and responding to critical breakdowns keeping down time to a minimum while supporting the team with your technical knowledge and experience.
 
Working closely with the Engineering Shift Manager you will be involved in the performance reviews of the wider automation team. As you are embedded within the team you will identify the strengths and weaknesses of the engineers and recommend additional training and development plans.
 
This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Engineer/Team Leader that is looking for the next step in their career who can confidently support the senior engineering team.
 
Key responsibilities for a Senior Shift Automation Engineer

• Planned Routine Maintenance
• Respond breakdowns proactively to limit downtime taking ownership of issues.
• Strong Attention to detail
• CMMS processes
• Service and repair of equipment on site Adhere to Health & Safety Guidelines 
• Mentoring of junior team members

Qualifications, Skills and Experience for a Senior Shift Automation Engineer

• Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC/ONC
• Experience as a Team Leader/Manager
• A solid understanding of PLC’s and field wiring
• Ability to read technical Electrical and Mechanical drawings.
• Strong communication and Interpersonal skills
• Computer Literate
• Confidently work at height. 

Salary and Benefits of an Senior Shift Automation Engineer 

• Salary up to £52,500
• Shift 4 on 4 off Days & Nights
• 6am – 6pm / 6pm – 6am
• Career progression
