We are Bet Promotions, we lead the customer rewards and promotional experiences on skybet.com powering services that publish to our homepage and mobile applications.

Keeping our customers safe and secure is core to our mission. We enforce and honour responsible gambling controls throughout skybet.com.

We reward our customers with personal and tailored promotions while informing them of the progress in real-time.

Bet Promotions are responsible for our customer retention promotion Sky Bet Club which rewards customers with exclusive offers and content on Sky Vegas and Sporting Life.

Our services extend to real-time football alerts notifying 100k+ of customers of kick-off and goal alerts to their phones. Our promotions appear on every bet receipt over 1k+ a second!

We build services, written in React, Typescript, Node.JS and Kotlin (JVM), using technologies such as Kubernetes, VMs, Kafka, MySQL, and GraphQL. We are cross-functional in owning both front and backends. We use New Relic, Grafana and Prometheus to monitor them.

We are key to the delivery of industry leading marketing campaigns (e.g. Cheltenham, International tournaments, Start of Season) – do not be surprised if you see your work on TV!

• You will work as part of an Agile Software Delivery squad, contributing to your team’s ways of working and fully embracing a teamwork mentality through practices such as pair programming and a no-blame culture. 

• You will be entrusted by the Lead Software Engineer in the team to take day-to-day ownership of the technical implementation, acting as a mentor and role model to all members of the team to instill best practices. 

• You will be a key driver and contributor within the team, turning concepts, designs and requirements into highly available web applications and systems, using industry standard languages and technologies. 

• You will play a crucial part in all aspects of the product lifecycle, from formulating an initial approach to your work, to incrementally: implementing, reviewing, testing, releasing, and maintaining it in our production environment. 

• Your passion for technology is crucial; We're looking for someone who is determined to make things as good as they can be using the most appropriate tools, someone with an attention to detail and a willingness to suggest and implement further improvements. 

• You will be operationally aware and customer-obsessed, taking responsibility for security, code quality, scalability, performance, accessibility and more. You will get to know our systems, customers, and domain, which will help you understand requirements and ensure our products meet the needs of our customers. 

• You will promote the importance of non-functionals such as real-time monitoring, good alert design and great logging strategies to improve the visibility of our systems, helping us work towards a better platform. 

• You will be eager to continuously learn, grow and improve as an engineer. As a keen collaborator you will actively seek to share knowledge and build strong relationships within your team and beyond to aid the development and progression of your fellow engineers.
