JOB TITLE: S enior S olution Architect   

SALARY : £100,657-£118,420 per annum 

LOCATION: London - Gresham Street

HOURS: Full-Time – 35 hours   

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.  

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY   

A great opportunity for a Senior Solution Architect based in Lo ndon has arisen within our Data & Machine Learning Platform .  

We are a platform engineering team focussed out on building out a cloud-native, managed, data analytics platform on Google Cloud Platform for Lloyds Banking Group. We design and deploy capabilities from ingestion to curation to insight with the goal of enabling the data engineers, analysts and scientists to unleash the value of data.   

As a Solution Architect in our Data Platform Services Lab you’ll be:  

  • Collaborating with Product Owners, Platform Leads, Enterprise Architects & Engineers to create the Architectural runway for our Platform teams. Once baselined, you’ll continuously invest in maintaining the Architecture runway underpinning our Platform teams.  

  • Partner ing with Enterprise Architecture & service providers to elaborate on solutions, their interfaces and validating technology assumptions, evaluating implementation alternatives and software lifecycle risks, assumptions, issues & dependencies.  

  • Providing analysis of options and deliver end-to-end solution designs using relevant architectural building blocks as well as producing designs for features that enable frequent incremental customer value delivery.  

  • Chairing an architecture forum with a goal of boosting collaboration, championing re-use, and implementing best practices.  

  • Promoting adaptive design practises to drive collaboration across Platform teams centring on a common vision with continuous feedback.  

  • Owning the technical design risks or issues and driving resolution through architectural or agile practises.  

  • Participating in Agile ceremonies, elicit requirements, shape & validate designs or prototypes that deliver customer outcomes that align to our target architecture.   

  • Leveraging industry best practise, frameworks, standards & policies in creating opportunities & value for our customers.  

  • C ontributing to the financial investment process to obtain funding for key solution opportunities.

  • Providing oversight & foster built in quality, decoupled & modernised architectures.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED  

We welcome applications from candidates with varying backgrounds, but as a minimum to be successful in this position, your application should demonstrate the below:   

Technical Skills   

  • Strong Solutions Architect background within a commercial environment and track-record of managing architecture decisions capturing technical design risks or issues and drive resolution through architectural or agile practices.  

  • Experience architecting enterprise systems through the championing of reusable patterns.  

  • Extensive working knowledge of Cloud Architecture ( preferably within GCP)  

  • Understanding of API-based architectures  

Behavioural Skills   

  • Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to liaise closely with technical and business stakeholders alike . Previous experience of collaborating with Product Owners, Platform Leads, Enterprise Architects & Engineers is essential. Promote adaptive design practises to drive collaboration across Platform teams centring on a common vision with continuous feedback

  • Leadership capabilities, with the ability to chair design communities, influence and encourage the adoption of best practice and reusable patterns.  

  • Natural problem-solver with a professional curiosity for continuous improvement and a track-record of identifying better ways of working and translating these into practical and realistic solutions.
