Only candidates who are Canadian citizens, have PR status or have a citizenship from a NATO country, and who satisfy security clearance criteria, will be considered.

The Role

The Principle Systems Engineer is part of the engineering team that develops marine navigation and bridge systems for OSI’s government and naval markets. The Principle Systems Engineer plays a critical role in the development of the overall system requirements’ design and definition for OSI’s complex products. The Principle Systems Engineer will execute various system engineering functions throughout the life cycle of the project.  The incumbent has experience in working with various organizations and system components (software engineering, hardware engineering, integration and test, production, manufacturing and logistics) and can take on the technical lead of a project.

Main Responsibilities

• Develops design concepts and generates technical proposal to military standards
• Develop and mentor engineers in a dynamic team environment and help them resolve problems
• Improve efficiencies and recommends corrective actions, including writing procedures
• Builds and participates in customer relationships
• May participate in system integration tests, trials, and acceptance tests at customer facilities

You Bring

• Degree in Engineering or Physics or related field or equivalent experience
• Experience in marine electronics and integrated bridge systems a significant asset;
• Experience in defense or government domain preferably in naval ship sector is a significant asset
• Strong knowledge of marine navigation and tactical sensors or systems;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a location relevant security clearance;
• Willingness and ability to travel
