Full Job Description

The HPC Jobs Service supports local people into exciting, long-term careers across our Project.

Alumet are recruiting for a Site HS&E Manager to work with them on a 12 month fixed term contract on the Hinkley Point C Project.


Main Duties: 

  • You will be supporting the Project Manager in ensuring a high standard of health, safety and environmental management and promoting a positive health and safety culture. 
  • Daily supervision of all work activities.
  • Undertaking site audits and liaising with client on findings.
  • Monitoring and reporting safety performance to Project Lead.
  • Carrying out accident/incident/near miss investigations on site and producing subsequent reports and recommendations.
  • Producing and reviewing RAMS and Environmental Management plans for site based activities.
  • Planning and organising lifting operations and completing lift plans in accordance with Bylor's requirements as Alumet's onsite CPCS Approved Person. 
  • To manage lifting operations alongside Logistics Team.
  • Identifying and organising safety and environmental training as required.
  • Attending any site meetings applicable to your role.
  • Managing a system to ensure safe and well-maintained plant and equipment.
  • Managing first aid and PPE provision on site.
  • Managing inductions for site personnel ensuring all documentation is uploaded in accordance with Alumet's and Bylor's requirements.
  • Managing weekly Friday Pack collation and documentation.
  • Offering general advice on health, safety and environmental/sustainability matters.
  • Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems.
  • Acting as an ambassador/exemplar of Alumet Systems and embracing/supporting/promoting the Company culture and values.


Qualifications/Experience : 

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent / higher.
  • ILM certification level 3 (nuclear safety culture unit) would be an advantage.
  • CPCS Competent Person Appointed person (lifting operations) qualification - essential.
  • Health and Safety Manager CSCS card.
  • Due to the security clearance process you MUST have a full UK visa.
  • Suitable site experience in a similar role, preferably in the nuclear industry 
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in Health and Safety Management.
  • Organised, pro-active and enthusiastic.
  • High degree of initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Must work well as part of a team.
