About Nimax Theatres

Owned by Nica Burns and Max Weitzenhoffer, Nimax Theatres is an entrepreneurial and innovative organisation that owns and operates six theatres in the heart of London’s West End – the Apollo, Duchess, Garrick, Lyric, Palace, and Vaudeville. Additionally, Nica Burns has built an exciting new flexible theatre located at the top of Charing Cross Road, @sohoplace, which has recently opened and has a close operational relationship with Nimax Theatres .

Our theatres currently have a combined capacity of 5,600 seats and, in addition to hosting some of the UK’s most critically acclaimed and successful plays and musicals, present a busy and varied programme of comedy, concerts and children’s theatre.

About the role

This role will oversee all of the Nimax and @sohoplace social media channels, including creating and developing content. The postholder will also look after community management on the major social media channels. The role will also offer the opportunity to develop and create campaigns for our theatre shows, venues and overall promotion of the company.

Key duties and responsibilities


Social Media Management

  • Manage all of the Nimax and @sohoplace social media channels, articulating our brands and developing a distinctive tone of voice
  • Create and manage in-house production’s social media channels
  • Commission and create compelling content for all our social channels to build reach and deepen audience engagement
  • Explore and test tailored messaging on different platforms selecting the right content for the right channel
  • Develop a strategy to achieve and sustain growth and engagement targets for social media channels in line with our strategic plan
  • Research and form key relationships with relevant influencers across all social media platforms
  • Regularly monitor and report on social media analytics
  • Track the ROI and the success of all social media activity and specific campaigns
  • Report on social media campaigns in internal and external meetings
  • Monitor developments and create effective response plans to changes in social media and adopt emerging channels
  • Deliver a high standard of community management and monitor and reply to questions and feedback that comes in via social media
  • Create and develop standardised messaging for effective community management


Content Production

  • Commission and create content that supports the productions in our venues or the Nimax and @sohoplace brands as a whole
  • Create a rich and varied range of engaging multimedia content including videos, interviews and photos
  • Work with the production specific teams to create engaging and relevant content
  • Work closely with the Access Manager to create content around our access performances and provisions
  • Continually innovate, test and evaluate new content initiatives and partners, keeping a track of new trends and developments
  • Repurpose existing and archival content to tell stories of Nimax’s legacy and history
  • Update and manage editorial and content calendars
  • Research and commission suppliers and/or creative agencies to help in the creation of content
  • Regularly monitor and report on metrics of success against strategic objectives - learning and improving our future planning accordingly
  • Manage agreed budgets in conjunction with the Marketing Managers for specific content campaigns
  • Ensure permission and copyright is cleared prior to production and publication of all content
  • Edit, check and proofread all content and publish it onto the appropriate platforms
  • Where possible ensure all content is provided in accessible formats including captioned, audio described, or with alt text

General

  • Use graphic design packages and image and video editing software to create content and support the activities of the Marketing Department

Person specification

Essential

  • Experience using and managing multiple social media platforms  
  • An engaging writing style, with an ability to adapt tone of voice for different audiences
  • Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends and future platforms
  • Experience of creating engaging and creative content within a budget
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • A creative problem solver
  • An ability to navigate a variety of stakeholder relationships
  • Absolute attention to detail
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at once
  • A proactive and flexible attitude and an ability to effectively prioritise
  • A passion for theatre, arts and the work of Nimax Theatres and @sohoplace
  • Experience of monitoring and reporting on success
  • Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Photoshop, InDesign and video editing software
  • Experience of commissioning creative content and writing content briefs
