Contract Software Engineering Manager

Remote/Hybrid – up to £700- Outside IR35

We’re currently partnered with a leading digital marketplace who are looking for a Software Engineering Manager with leadership experience in a product-led environment. We are looking for a technical leader who will provide both technical guidance and leadership to a cross-functional team. This is a hands-off role, although the ideal candidate will have experience as a software engineer so they can provide technical wisdom and guidance, review code and guide design decisions.

• You will manage between 4-12 engineers (with varying levels of experience) across multiple disciplines.
• You will steer the technical direction for the team, driving initiatives across engineering.
• Have strong demonstrable people management experience.
• Prior experience in a hands-on technical role (ideally Java)
• Have a track record of developing and delivering large scale, distributed or complex scale platforms.
• Technology stack: Java, Node.js, Vue.js, Kotlin, Swift and SAP.
