Full-time
Salary: £30k + tips per year
One of
Interactions clients is looking for a Sous Chef in their North
Cambridge Pub, you would play a crucial role in assisting the head
chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen operations within their
establishment. Your culinary expertise and leadership skills will
contribute to maintain high standards of food quality, presentation,
and customer satisfaction.
As a Sous Chef your
responsibilities will be:
- Food Preparation: Assist the head
chef in preparing and cooking menu items according to established
recipes and quality standards.
- Menu Development:
Collaborate with the head chef to create and update menus,
incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes to enhance
the dining experience.
- Training and Supervision: Train and
supervise kitchen staff to ensure adherence to recipes, proper food
handling procedures, and consistent execution of dishes.

Quality Control: Monitor food production processes to maintain
consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes, ensuring
customer satisfaction with every dish.
- Hygiene and Safety:
Enforce strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards,
including proper storage, handling, and cleaning of equipment and work
areas.
- Customer Interaction: Collaborate with
front-of-house staff to address customer feedback, accommodate special
requests, and ensure a positive dining experience.
Qualifications:
- Culinary Expertise: Proven culinary
skills with experience in cooking a variety of cuisines and
familiarity with pub-style cuisine.
- Leadership Abilities:
Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively lead and
motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work
environment.
- Creativity: Ability to contribute creative
ideas for menu development and innovation while aligning with the
pub's culinary concept and budgetary constraints.

Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational abilities to manage
time efficiently, prioritise tasks, and handle multiple
responsibilities in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings,
weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the operational needs of the
pub.
- Food Safety Certification: Certification in food
safety and hygiene (e.g., Level 2 Food Safety Certificate) is
preferred.
