Full Job Description

The Hope & Anchor is a beautiful riverside pub, restaurant & inn nestled in the heart of Ross-On-Wye with multiple dining options for customers including a traditional pub bar and a modern cocktail bar, two restaurants, a riverside hut serving those on the go, and a spacious garden with outdoor seating including a Bandstand and all-weather tent area, both of which can house entertainment. We also have 12 beautiful recently refurbished riverside en-suite rooms available, with breakfast included and served in the pub.

Having joined the Country House Weddings portfolio in 2020, we are backed by over 30 years of experience when it comes to catering, customer service, and event planning and management. Giving our customers the peace of mind that they will be well looked after during their time with us.

Our fantastic team is made up of expert chefs, enthusiastic bar and wait staff, experienced managers, and dedicated housekeepers, all of which provide the best service day in and day out across all areas of our venue.

About Us

We also cater for private functions and can utilise both the inside of up to 175 guests on 2 levels.

In the Spring and Summer months we also offer garden dinning with freshly cooked woodfire Pizzas, BBQ's, live music evenings and a hut which serves ice cream, coffee, cakes and paninis during the day time.

We are currently looking to recruit an Experienced Senior Chef to support a well established large brigade  to join us at during a busy summer season with variable hours avaliable The venue is a 2 minute walk from the town centre, 

We are looking to a creative & passionate individual to join us at our beautiful riverside pub.

Requirements

● A passion for delivering the most incredible culinary experiences

● Cooking & preparing high quality dishes

● Influence on new menu items, recipes & develop dishes

● Being responsible for health & safety

● Being responsible for food hygiene practices

● Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created

● Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering

● Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary & food safety guidelines

Responsibilities

● Produce food of an impeccable standard

● Ensure the kitchen is adequately staffed at all times, in line with budget set, hours to include breakfast through to evening dining, on a rota basis.

● Ensure highest level of cleanliness is achieved in all catering work areas

● Ensure smooth running of service, maintaining high standards at all times

● Ensure the safety of the building & the people in it with full awareness of health and safety procedures

● Operate at all times in accordance with the Company’s health and safety policies
