Special Needs Teaching Assistant

90- 100 per day

SANZA Teaching Agency are recruiting on behalf of a lovely special needs school in Harrow that are looking for a special needs (SEN) teaching assistant to join their team ASAP!

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The school caters for 136 pupils aged 3-11 years with a wide range of complex and profound learning difficulties. These include severe autism, complex medical conditions, physical and mobility difficulties, as well as severe developmental delay.

The school is proud to boast wonderful, purpose-built facilities that allow for the highest level of support and opportunity to their students. In addition, they have a strong, committed and enthusiastic staff body, allowing for a specialist, individual support to students. A multi-agency team of physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapists, teachers for pupils with vision and hearing impairments, and nursing staff, working together with teaching and teaching assistants, makes for a dynamic, bustling workplace!

ABOUT YOU

The school is seeking a strong special needs teaching assistant who:

  • Is proactive and demonstrates good relationship building skills and be able to encourage the students to be as independent as possible
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, displaying empathy and understanding
  • Strong teamwork skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and the ability to adapt them to meet individual needs
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
  • Has previous experience supporting children with special needs
