AK Teaching is seeking an energetic and dedicated Sports Coach with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant at a SEN school located in Morpeth, Northumberland. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals with a background in sports coaching to contribute to the academic and personal development of students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in facilitating general classroom activities and providing support to students with SEN.
• Utilise sports coaching skills and techniques to engage students and promote physical activity and well-being.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to create inclusive learning environments tailored to individual student needs.
• Support students with a range of special educational needs and challenging behaviours, including autism and ADHD.
• Offer 1:1 support to students as needed, addressing specific learning goals and objectives.
• Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to enhance the overall learning experience.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with learners with autism, ADHD, and other special educational needs is advantageous.
• Possess a fully enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and needs.
• Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to supporting students' academic and personal development.
• Flexible approach to work and willingness to assist with various classroom tasks beyond sports coaching duties.
