Statutory Accountant - Retail Banking (12 month FTC)
Founded in 2007 our client is one of the fastest growing banks of their kind in the UK. They offer personal and corporate savings products and finance for UK residential and commercial property, in addition to sourcing and advising on UK real estate investments.
They are now looking to acquire the services of an Statutory Accountant . As a Statutory Accountant , you will work closely with the Senior Financial Accountant and the Finance team to assist with the product and financial control function and support monthly, quarterly and year end and reporting.
Key responsibilities
• Assist in preparing statutory financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, tax regulations, and accounting standards.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities, including general ledger reconciliations and accruals.
• Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process, providing necessary documentation and resolving any queries.
• Preparation of the month-end close process, including submission of journal entries in a timely manner.
• Support the accounts’ payable function including processing payments, review of the related journal entries in the accounting system.
• Producing/reviewing monthly balance sheet and income statement GL code reconciliations.
• Assist with implementation of any new accounting standards.
• Provide ad hoc reporting as and when required.
• Reviewing the daily product control reports.
• Ensuring all deal bookings are booked correctly and flowing as expected in the accounting module and escalate to relevant persons.
• Support product control reporting re-design.
