Vacancy: Strategic Sourcing Manager – MRO & CAPEX

Location: Royston, UK, Lithuania, Poland

Job Family: Supply and Logistics

As the Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be focused on delivering world-class results and a competitive advantage to JM. Balancing total cost of ownership (TCO), strategic and tactical delivery. You will develop the global Category strategy for MRO sub-categories and support, own and enable the delivery of global Category strategy in-region, whilst bringing in breakthrough ideas and best-in-class approaches. 

You will be translating global led category strategies to sourcing and actions plan. Defining the team required to successfully deliver the project plan and undertaking category management activities as required whilst driving plans to a successful execution. As the Sourcing Manager you will be Business Partnering with the Engineering and Maintenance teams to identify opportunities to optimise & standardise specifications, competitively bid spend across spend Categories to deliver cost savings and efficiencies to JM whilst Driving Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities with key suppliers across key Engineering and Maintenance suppliers, creating joint action plans to deliver value for JM and our supplier partners.

Your responsibilities:
  • Develop, prioritise, and implement category and strategic sourcing strategies within a global and regional environment.

  • Develop, negotiate & performance manage contracts (including Framework Agreements) with strategic suppliers for outsourced of services.

  • Business partnering with Engineering and Maintenance functions to understand their priorities and risks, so that these can be translated into Business Requirements that will drive Category strategy.

  • Leading the process to select and manage suppliers.  Lead and support when necessary diverse negotiations teams to ensure the best outcomes according to Business Requirements.

  • Work to identify, develop, and implement improved supply-side initiatives to deliver sustainable value, appropriate quality and service, and a secure, safe, cost effective and ethical supply base.

  • Developing an expertise of the external Markets across the suppliers across MRO categories

Requirements for the role:
  • Strong functional procurement experience managing global led categories across multiple geographies, including negotiation of contracts across technical, commercial and legal. (Essential)

  • Ability to build effective relationships with 3rd parties external to the company, such as service providers and goods suppliers. (Essential)

  • Experience working with Engineering & Maintenance teams to drive cost savings and improve Plant uptime (Essential)

  • Degree qualified and/ or proven experience in Automotive, FMCG or Chemical procurement.

  • MCIPS qualified, or willingness to work towards this
