About the opportunity

Due to expansion in our business, Nova Systems International has an exciting permanent opportunity for a Submarine Services Delivery Manager with particular focus on helping to develop and deliver our AUKUS Programme aspiration . Submarine experience is essential as you will be at the centre of the next phase of our exciting growth. The successful candidate will be confident working in both the UK and on international programmes. The role will involve supporting the Client in systems engineering approaches to support the successful delivery of programme/project management and business transformation activities, alongside broader Maritime, Submarine, Uncrewed and essential services Programmes. We’re looking for someone who has experience using systems engineering in support of projects and programmes in UK Submarines primarily, with the ability to apply those skills in other sectors if required.

What will I be involved in?

You’ll be involved in many aspects of Systems Engineering, Programme/Project Management and consultant activities, with responsibilities to:

· Undertake, lead and direct Systems Engineering activities in a programme and project delivery context.

· Understand and utilise suitable systems engineering tools and techniques, to break down complex problems.

· Work with stakeholders, capture, develop, manage and coordinate complex requirements sets, including defining robust metrics and acceptance criteria.

· Deliver/support key milestones in the engineering design process such as: Design Options Analysis, Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR) etc.

· Support programme and project management colleagues in constructing and delivering a robust programme/project plan.

· Support the development of Investment Decision Business Cases at all stages of the Project/Programme Lifecycle.

· Manage multiple stakeholders and customers on complex issues including the delivery of strategy or large-scale change.

What are we looking for?

· Eligibility to work in the UK.

· Minimum Current UK Security Clearance, or the ability to achieve one.

· Experience working in Submarine Systems Engineering Project/ Programme delivery environment.

· Experience in Defence Submarine Sector from with industry or government.

· A qualification similar/equivalent to the following: Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in an Engineering specialisation or equivalent experience.

· Ability to work with a wide range of people.

· Ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads.

· High level of written and verbal communication skills.

· Ideally, with knowledge of Programme and Project Management techniques.
