Description

Pay rate:
£14 per hour during the week, £15 at weekends (Weekly Pay)
Shift Pattern: 24 or 36 hours a week available (12 hour waking night shifts 8pm-8am)
Location: Portland DT5

Unfortunately we cannot provide VISA sponsorship and we do not hire on a relocation basis, you must currently be based in the Portland/Weymouth area.
 
 This is a permanent position.

Requirements:  

  • Worked as a carer previously in the UK (preferably)
  • Experience with PEG feeding & Gastrostomy (preferably)
  • Experience with working with & supporting individuals with epilepsy (preferably)
  • Experience working with brain injuries would be beneficial but not essential

This role will be supporting a young lady with cerebral palsy, she also suffers from epilepsy and requires PEG.
 Experience with some or all of the above is required for this role.
 
Due to client and family preference, this job is open to Female Support Workers only.


Key Responsibilities

Support Workers cover all manners of support for others – from companionship and days out, to personal care and housekeeping. At Team Brain Injury Support, you’ll be working with someone living with complex care needs and receive fully paid, on the job training. So, whether you’re an experienced support worker or completely new to the sector, you’ll have the opportunity to build your skills in a safe and trusted environment.

  • Support with all facets of daily living

  • Communicate effectively with the individual and other team members
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy
  • Adhere to care plans and guidelines provided

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals requiring care
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols
  • Empathy, patience, and compassion when interacting with individuals in need of support
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet varying care needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willingness to undergo additional training and development as required
