LOCATION: Hybrid Working/ World Business Centre, Heathrow

REPORTING TO: Head of Sustainability, Environment & Social Value

WORKING HOURS: 40 hours per week

SALARY: Competitive

Supporting the delivery of authentic sustainability and social value outcomes to a co-ordinated Sustainability Plan to meet the needs of the communities we work with and in. This role is designed to ensure that our teams work collaboratively and in concert with the strategic sustainability outcomes of our business whilst helping to deliver to our clients the added value they need.

You will help operations teams to authentically reduce emissions in support of Net Zero, reduce wastes, support the socio-economic needs of the communities we work in, and provide a resilient demonstrable legacy that delivers sustainability and social value at a local and regional level. By it’s very nature this will produce improved social and environmental outcomes to governance and inclusive principles.

Our aim is to provide a balanced picture of the impact we have, in a transparent way, with the provision of case studies that demonstrate effective collaboration to meet these outcomes and ensure information flow for regulatory and performance assurance. All of which supports compliance with regulation, and further demonstrates “great and innovative” practices that help both ABM and our clients to collectively reduce environmental impacts and increase social value legacy in a demonstrable way.



Requirements

* Report to Head of Sustainability, Environment and Social Value to deliver in a co-ordinated way the company Company Sustainability Action Plan and associated Objectives and Goals at a local level

* Engage with the Regional Divisional Directors to ensure that site specific priorities are met across your region

* Help operations teams to reduce their emissions through Waste, water, material and social value improvements by transferring “good Practice” & “innovation”

* Provide visibility and accessibility for our clients and site teams for potential improvement activities

* Position with Local and National Community social enterprises(as appropriate), diverse suppliers, local educational institutions, charities, and local sustainability focused client staff

* Support the delivery of onsite special events and work with site teams in your region to promote community engagement and performance improvement

* Ensure ABM Team Member involvement is rewarding and a positive experience

* Work with Operations Teams, Clients & Suppliers to address social and environmental outcomes using a collaborative approach

* Train Team Members on Sustainability & Social Value through engagement

* Benchmark Sustainability & Social Value progress of key contracts / operations in your region

* Help operations teams to reduce their emissions

* Produce Social Media items recognising those involved for communications

* Work with social enterprises to support inclusion and young people accessing and joining ABM and the facilities management industry (JEEP, Internship Program)

* Use our LifeWorks, Reward & Recognition system to recognise a team or person on their Sustainability & Social value achievements

* Advise, tailor and deliver Volunteer & Charity Programs for local site socio-economic priorities providing records and images to Comms Team

* Enable capture of UK Volunteer and Charity activities in our ABMCares System and be an ABMCares Ambassador

* Promote local external community engagement activities that add positive Social, Environmental and economic outcomes

* Develop relationships with local social enterprises & charities leveraging community benefits from ABM

* Ensure sustainability systems are maintained up to date

* Engage & work to support local community social enterprises collaboratively

* Assist with Sustainability and & Social Value Reporting for ABM UK Governance with digital materials

* Identify opportunities to help local communities in their net zero plans

* Support the inclusion of Net Zero Innovation with Clients

* Successfully complete a fully funded Corporate Social Responsibility Practitioner Apprenticeship and/or

* Successfully complete Institution of Environmental Managers & Assessment entrance requirements

PERSON SPECIFICATION: The successful applicant will have either;

* A graduate degree in sustainability, environment, or business management or 2 A’ Levels above Grade C and;

* Be passionate about Sustainability, Net Zero, Social Value, community engagement and Diversity Equity and Inclusion

* Have been active in volunteering in support of the environment or social need

*Have good time management and organisational skills

* Be prepared to Plan and Travel Sustainably

*Be approachable, be able to influence by providing training and advice

ESSENTIAL: This person will need to and be happy to;

* Travel, and occasionally stay away from home

* Have a full and clean driving license

* Be confident with mathematics

* Be confident in the use of the English language

* Be inclusive in your approach to work and life

* Be a team player

* Be flexible
