Welder / Fabricator – TIG & MIG

Peterborough

PAYE – permanent – full time

• Immediate start available.
• Up to £18.00 p/h PAYE (40-hour week).

The role is site based - no travelling is required as the projects are within a client's facility.

You will need to live within a commutable distance of Peterborough.

Standard working hours: Mon - Fri 8am -16.30pm (40 hours per week)

Weekends: Some weekend work will be required due to the nature of our client's operation.

The company is a growing organisation specialising in process pipework, fabrication and mechanical installation projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile welder / fabricator to join the company, supporting a high-profile client in Peterborough. Duties

As a suitably qualified welder / fabricator with mild steel MIG and stainless steel TIG welding experience you will be working in our workshop within our client’s site in Peterborough.

Primary duties will be fabricating and welding a wide range of items including:

• Small and large bore pipework in carbon and stainless (schedule and OD tubing)
• General fabrication in mild steel

As a member of our team, you’ll be expected to be versatile and undertake other duties when required. This includes general fitting and installation work to help deliver our projects on time and to a high standard.

The role includes bench work and site work - no travelling is required as the role is based within the client's facility.

About You

You will need to be able to:

• Work safely in accordance with RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Read technical drawings
• Measure, cut and prepare materials for welding
• TIG weld carbon steel and stainless pipework to a high standard
• Use your initiative and create your own basic drawings when needed
• MIG weld mild steel hollow sections, structural profiles and sheet metal
• MMA welding experience is desirable but not essential

You must live within a commutable distance of Peterborough.

Demonstrable experience of butt welding stainless steel pipework.

CSCS not required. Forklift and/or IPAF 3a/3b would be an advantage, but training will be provided where necessary.

In return for your experience, you will receive a competitive rate from £15.00 to £18.00 per hour, depending upon experience and skill level.
