Teacher of Girls PE

We are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Girls' PE (maternity cover) to join our large team of highly skilled and enthusiastic professionals at a prominent educational institution. This role provides maternity cover with the possibility of discussing a permanent contract for the right candidate. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). Specialisms in Gymnastics, Trampolining, and Netball are desirable.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Teach a diverse range of students, possibly including GCSE PE, Level 3 BTEC, and BTEC Exercise & Sport.
Foster a love for physical education and encourage student participation in sports and dance.
Maintain the excellent reputation of our Physical Education and Dance department.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

A teaching qualification.
Experience in teaching PE and a genuine passion for the subject.
Specialisms in Gymnastics, Trampolining, or Netball are advantageous.
Our Physical Education and Dance department, comprised of 14 dedicated teachers, has consistently been recognized for excellence and has achieved an outstanding rating in numerous departmental reviews.

 

 

Physical Education at our institution holds a prominent position, with high levels of student participation. Our extracurricular PE and Dance clubs are well-attended, and we are an active member of the West Sussex South District Sports partnership, providing an extensive fixture schedule at the district level. Many of our sports teams consistently excel in district competitions and advance to the later stages of County and National competitions. Our extracurricular success is celebrated annually at our showcase event, the Shoreham Academy PE and Dance Celebration Evening.

 

The sports facilities are state-of-the-art, boasting a 4th generation Astroturf pitch, two large multi-use games areas, two spacious field areas, a dance studio, a fitness suite, a four-badminton-court sports hall with a 400-seat spectator viewing area, a three-lane outdoor cricket net, and a three-badminton-court sports hall.
