The MSL Team Leader’s role will be divided 50% as the manager of the team and 50% performing the MSL role. The MSL is a therapeutically aligned clinical expert who will play a key role within the Neuroscience organisation.  The primary focus of the MSL is to use the individual’s knowledge of specific disease states and available therapies to help deliver therapy related medical education. The Team Leader will provide leadership, direction and coaching to the MSL’s along with responsibility for the strategic development of the MSL role and direct liaison with the Medical and Brand teams

Brand Team Support

  • Coordinate MSL team to serve as a key contact point for the medical and brand teams:
    • Contribute clinical, scientific and strategic input to support the cross functional team
    • Contribute to the development of local medical and brand plans & also regional educational and engagement strategies
    • By offering scientific and creative input, contribute to the development of educational materials.
    • Effectively communicate and transfer knowledge of the disease state and clinical insights with the medical and brand teams
  • Coordinate the MSL team to provide the medical input and advice related to all relevant neuroscience field activities
  • Support the medical training needs of internal business partners
  • Oversee the collation and analysis of customer information to drive understanding and insights
  • Ensure effective team collaboration with stakeholder partners

Customer Support & Experience

  • Contribute to the coordination of activities and engagement with therapy related Key Opinion Leaders
  • Ensure Speaker training is aligned to Brand and Sales team requirements
  • Develop and maintain collaborations and relationships with relevant professional societies
  • Deliver and coach the wider team in scientific, educational, and presentations internally and to customers
  • Ensure cross-functional input to contribute to improvement in customer engagement through Digital innovation
  • Assist in delivery of positive customer experiences

Scientific Expertise and Medical Affairs Delivery

  • Lead in the development and/or contribute to the affiliate / therapeutic area  medical plan and strategies
  • Coordinate and support the data analysis and the development of slide sets and publications (abstracts, posters, manuscripts)
  • Partner with other existing medical affairs leaders to achieve a seamless medical team aimed at delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Support Scientific Data Disclosure (SDD plans)
  • Critically read and evaluate relevant medical literature to be current in the TA
  • Keep up to date with medical and other scientific developments relevant to the product or portfolio
  • Be aware of current trends, issues and projections for clinical practice and access
Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Education & Medical Experience

  • Advanced degree (Phd, MD, PharmD, etc) in health sciences plus ≥ 3 years of relevant clinical or therapeutic experience

OR

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree (RN, PA, NP, etc) in health sciences considered with ≥ 5 years of clinical, research or relevant scientific industry experience

  • Leadership, Coaching and Management skills
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, team work, project management and presentation skills
  • Commercial/business acumen and contribution
  • Ability to ‘translate’ scientific data into meaningful, clear and compliant content for customer communications and engagement
  • Knowledge and experience at the customer interface
  • Ability to effectively partner across multiple functions including but not limited to Marketing, GPS, Compliance, Legal, Regulatory, PRA, and HTAEffective, strong leadership and ability to influence, including upward
  • High workload capacity including ability to manage and prioritize broad deliverables of a complex nature
