Salary: Competive salary based on experience, plus car, plus allowances

Location: UK, Home Based with travel

The opportunity: 

This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Workforce Strategies Practice in Zurich Resilience Solutions as a Team Leader. The role of the Team Leader is to set the strategic direction of the Practice and effectively lead, inspire and coach a team of Risk Consultants so that they can reach their full potential, making sure the team and the Practice is a great place to work by motivating, enthusing and nurturing.

In particular we are looking for an individual who has experience with customer relationship management and/or consultancy services.

Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

What will you be doing? 

  • Leadership of the team, creating strong engagement and a collaborative and supportive culture, whilst delivering a high quality service.
  • Create an environment where team members can achieve their full potential, through continuous development, with support, coaching and motivation.
  • Co-ordinate and monitor team work activities and resources to achieve targets within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Implement people management strategy and resource plan to support the business.
  • Create and enhance systems, processes and procedures to translate business plans into action and achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Work with the team to establish priorities and build execution plans.
  • Build multitude of successful long-lasting collaborations with key stakeholders.
  • Build and promote Zurich’s reputation as the go-to technical experts in the market.
  • Seeks to position Zurich appropriately within the competitive landscape.
  • Leverage cross-functional relationships to deliver strategic growth, UK & Global.
  • Support external customers &/or underwriters by identifying, and reducing the risks that they face individually, and on an overall account/portfolio basis.
  • Working collaboratively within the WFS Practice leadership team to effectively support our customer facing risk experts and business partners

What are we looking for?

  • CMIOSH, ACII or a degree in an appropriate subject (e.g. PgDip or MSc in Risk Management or Occupational Health & Safety)
  • Expertise in risk management.
  • Thorough knowledge of risk management products and procedures.
  • Proven stakeholder management and experience in creating trust based relationships.
  • Financial awareness including experience in budget creation and forecasting.
  • Market competition awareness.
  • Ability to develop and implement long term strategic plans.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills.
  • Influences business decisions through exemplary communication.
  • Able, enjoys and promotes working autonomously.
  • Ability to successfully liaise with senior managers throughout the organisation.
