Full Job Description

Medsolve are proud to be working with a client who are looking for a Team Leader/ Support Worker based in Preston. Excellent opportunity for an experienced, qualified candidate to join the team in one of our clients’ children's residential homes who specialise in supporting Children and Young People who have suffered early life trauma, neglect or abuse and may display challenging behaviours.

 

This is a full-time, permanent role.

 

My client offers a salary - Circa Up to £35.6K this includes sleep in allowance (£70.47 per sleep-in with an average of 11 per month)

Main duties of the Team Leader/ Support Worker:

·         Ensuring shifts are planned with Residential Support Workers.

·         To ensure that all risks are safely managed.

·         To communicate effectively with the team.

·         To provide reports and documentation that reflects the progress of the young person.

·         To review the young people's care plans.

·         To undertake an in-depth quality and bespoke training package.

·         To attend staff meetings and be proactive in improving the service model

·       To act as an advocate for the young person whilst using a positive parenting model

·         To work with young people using positive support strategies including de-escalation tools and techniques using in-house training (PRICE)

·         To provide positive parenting

·         To have sound working knowledge of current legislation e.g., Children's Homes Regulations 2015 (including quality standards)

·        To be open minded, empathetic in a calm and professional manner

 

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required of the Team Leader/ Support Worker:

·         Must have a full manual driving licence.

·         Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent.

·         To participate in further continuing professional development support the needs of our young people.

·    To have a clear passion and desire to support children and young people.

·         To be active member of a progressive and committed team.
