Profile – Technical Writer
My client is a world leader in the provision of highly advanced technical solutions to Energy sectors. They are currently looking for a Technical Writer to join their team based at their modern fit for purpose facility. Duties – Technical Writer
•
Create, update and maintain technical reference, maintenance and
operational content for use by field engineers & technicians by
working closely with project engineering teams.
• Write structured
documentation (using Arbortext Editor) in a content management system
(PTC WindChill) that maximizes comprehension and ease of use.
•
Produce clear, concise, and accurate content for a wide range of users
including users whose first language is not English.
• Edit
documents supplied from subject matter experts according to corporate
standards and style. An understanding of Simplified Technical English
would be useful.
• Obtain source information from internal project
documentation sources and interviews with project team members as well
as from change request tickets.
• Able to go to the manufacturing
area to observe assembly of products and help document the
procedures.
• Manage review cycles and incorporate review
comments.
• Produce and edit graphics such as taking photos during
engineering assembly, cropping photos, adding callouts, take
engineering CAD models and produce renders/exploded views, etc.
•
Produce high quality user documentation to agreed corporate standards
and timescales, which comprises mostly of assembly and maintenance
procedures.
Experience/Qualifications – Technical Writer
• Technical writing experience.
• Experience with graphic
software such as PhotoShop, Illustrator or Creo, etc to create/edit
images.
Candidates who are currently a Technical Writer, Configuration Controller, Document Writer, Documentation Writer, Documentation Specialist, Documentation Controller and Technical Author maybe suitable for this position.
