Theatre Nurse / Practitioner - Eye Clinic

  • Location:  Nottingham
  • Position:  Theatre Nurse / ODP - Ophthalmic
  • Service:  Eye Health Clinic
  • Care:  Theatre / Ophthalmic / Ophthalmology
  • Salary:  Up to £40,000 - negotiable depending on experience
  • Hours:  Full time 40 hour contract - 5 day week 
  • Contract type: Permanent

About the role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a driven and experienced Theatre Nurse / Practitioner to join a highly reputable state of the art private eye clinic in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a Theatre Nurse / Practitioner to join their thriving theatre team on a permanent basis. The service is high performing and expanding and within his role you will be exposed to a wide range of specialities. The service practices some of the most advanced treatments offering a range of surgical procedures is specialist fields within Ophthalmology. This is a great opportunity for a Theatre Nurse / Practitioner to expand on their skills assisting patients undergoing procedures including cataract surgery in a fast pace environment. The service provides outpatients appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery. We aim to change lives through better sight and eye health.

Duties and responsibilities
You will be working as a Theatre Nurse / Practitioner and will be responsible for:

  • Setting the theatre up ready to accommodate patients
  • Supporting the surgeon through the daily theatre list, anticipating any potential problems and resolving these.
  • Prepare patients for surgery
  • Take them through the journey and reassure patients throughout
  • Undertake medicine management and audit duties as well as maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Caring for patients after surgery recovering from sedation

Who we're looking for

  • Be NMC / HCPC registered - your pin must not have any restrictions or conditions
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK
  • Will have scrub experience working in theatres in the UK
  • Ophthalmic experience is highly desirable
  • Interest in development and progression- this role offers the opportunity to complete the surgical assist course
  • At least 2 year scrub experience working in theatres in the UK
