An exciting opportunity has arisen within Halton Integrated Recovery Service, for a Think Family Coordinator post to work in Runcorn - Halton. The role involves coordinating, developing, and delivering family-focused support for individuals experiencing drug and alcohol issues. Responsibilities include managing cases, conducting assessments, planning care, and working collaboratively with partners to promote a 'Think Family' approach. The focus is on improving the wellbeing of parents in treatment and strengthening partnerships across agencies. The role also involves offering psycho-social interventions, supporting parental care, and facilitating group sessions. Additionally, it aims to encourage positive lifestyle changes, promote health choices, and engage individuals with community services. The post holder will be expected to liaise closely with Halton Borough Council, Social Care and family service providers across the Borough of Halton and develop positive working relationships with all key partner agencies. The post holder will also assess those suitable to attend the Moving Parents and Children Together (MPACT) programme, facilitating group work to those who are deemed suitable.

 

The position offers development opportunities in a dynamic recovery-focused environment, and applicants must demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. The post requires previous experience in case management related to substance misuse and a valid driving licence.

Hours:   37.5h per week (This role is for a 12 month Fixed Term contract to cover maternity leave)

Salary : CGL Scale 23 – 28 - £26,393.77 - £30,316.74 dependent on experience 

Responsibilities

About the role:  

 

  • Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
  • Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
  • Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
  • To utilise motivational interviewing, ITEP, cognitive behavioural techniques and brief
    interventions in both one-to-one and group settings to promote engagement in
    treatment services, encourage self-esteem, well-being, self-responsibility and
    enhanced motivation.
  • Deliver structured content within group settings to service users at various stages of recovery
  • Engage with debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitators after groups/pods have taken place, reviewing progress and identifying concerns with service users
  • Tailor specific workshops around the needs of the service users, such as: anger management, sleep disorders, relationships, etc

About you:  

 

  • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
  • Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behaviour.
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
  • Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
  • Knowledge or experience of CBT, Relapse Prevention or Brief Solution focussed Therapy 
  • A clean driving licence and access to own transport.
