Salary:  circa £80,000 with excellent benefits including 10% STI and £6000 car allowance

Your future role

In this role, you will be delivering the global growth targets of Alstom’s Train Operations business by providing the operational delivery requirements. You will also be involved in developing Train Operations strategy for delivery against projects and tenders (multi-modal management, station management, advertising, passenger experience, infrastructure management and systems rules and processes) and supporting the mobilisation / setup of new sites and businesses (including licensing and safety management system).

We’ll look to you to:

  • Deliver tactical and strategic support to Train Operations high criticality projects and tenders (deliverables, margin improvement, etc.)
  • Operational Lead for Train Operations Solutions for operational delivery
  • Globally supporting critical projects and tenders, with potential to step in as interim project Operations or Safety Director.
  • Driving delivery of solutions to enable operational mobilization in projects and tenders.
  • Global Train Operations enhancement strategy (multi-modal management systems, infrastructure systems, safety, trains and station management).
  • Developing and implementing new and enhancements safety management systems, infrastructure management systems and operational processes for existing and new business requirements.
  • Support new business segment in Alstom (Train Operations), with AiM+ objective 200m EUR/year Sales growth.
  • Supporting creation of new OM JV partnerships.
  • Seek and support M&A’s linked to TOSM business.
  • Operational Lead responsible for global improvement of Services Solution TOSM (backlog and new tenders).
  • Operational interface to colleagues responsible for technical deliverables related to tenders/projects: OTD, QCD, etc.

  • 10-years’ experience in Senior Operations roles in railway industry of which at least 5-years’ experience of highly critical projects and safety management.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Previous transversal and/or international assignment in leadership roles within Railway Undertakings and Infrastructure Management Companies is desired.
  • Leading role in mobilising new operations is desired.
  • Strong operational and safety acumen.
  • Project management skills.
  • Good communication.
  • Leadership, entrepreneurship mindset and result oriented.
  • Good knowledge of railway structures, systems and safety requirements, risk management, operational systems and processes analysis and good knowledge of industry regulations, processes, and guidance in relation to operational requirements.
  • Conflict and crisis management.
  • Experience of report writing, managing tasks/projects, interfacing with clients.
  • Control Centre experience is highly desirable for the role.
