Our client is the UK’s leading technical support provider for the printing industry with an impressive 30 years’ worth of experience. They provide sales and support for a diverse range of specialised print equipment, including prepress, digital, and conventional printers, wide-format inkjet and digital finishing equipment from the biggest named manufacturers in the industry.
They are currently seeking a Trainee Field Service Engineer to
add to their after sales team, to provide technical support,
troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and customer service for a
variety of digital print & finishing equipment. This person will be
responsible for ad-hoc and contract field servicing, equipment
refurbishments and upgrades, equipment installations, decommissioning,
and relocations.
This role is ideal for someone who is an
experienced Inca Onset operator who is looking to make the transition
into a more technical, field-based role – it's a great opportunity to
hone your skills whilst not stepping into a management-oriented role
or crazy shift patterns. The perfect person for this will be adept
with Inca Onset presses, undertaking any planned and reactive
maintenance and already and has full understanding of the press from
an operator’s perspective at an advanced level.
A lot of the initial training for this position will take place at the company’s head offices in West Yorkshire, so residing in or close to this region is key for the role.
Required qualifications /
experience:
- Knowledge of Inca Onset digital
presses – ESSENTIAL
- Experience using Digital Cutting Systems,
Large Format or Industrial Inkjet / Digital Printers
- Knowledge
of Zund/Esko Kongsberg Cutters, Computer to Plate systems (CTP) -
HIGHLY ADVANTAGEOUS
- Proven Field Service, Technical Support and
Electro-Mechanical skills either as an in-house technician, advanced
operator, or field service engineer
- Troubleshooting skills

Preventive Maintenance skills
- Customer Service skills
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work
remotely, independently, or as a team
- Happy to work away on
occasion when required
- Valid driving licence and passport

Available to work across the UK with some international travel

Highly skilled operators with maintenance skills will be considered.
Salary & Benefits:
The starting salary
for a trainee level engineer is £28,000, rising with a review after
probationary period.
The potential earnings in this role once you
gain experience can rise exponentially – with some engineers earning
up to £40,000 basic plus overtime, with service specialists even
higher than this. The chance for growth and progression completely
lies with the candidate – the faster you learn and absorb the training
and bolster your knowledge, the faster you will be out servicing
clients on your own and therefore moving up in the pay grade ranks.
This is a full time “door to door” position, working Monday
to Friday, 8:30am – 17:00pm with some weekend / evening overtime
required.
