Trainer / Tutor (Multiply Programme)

Location: Margate, Kent

Salary: £29,292 per annum

Trainer/Tutor (Multiply): 29k+ Kent (Margate)

The Forward Trust is a fast-growing Matrix Standard, vocational training, skills and employability provider.  We are in the process of bidding for new Multiply services in Kent and elsewhere. The overall objective of Multiply is to increase the levels of functional numeracy in the adult population across the UK.  The Forward Trust are seeking to deliver Multiply engagement and numeracy teaching activities across all cohort groups.  We are looking for qualified Tutors/Trainers with expertise and experience in teaching numeracy and building confidence to learners from disadvantaged groups (adult learners).  

What you will be doing

Working with our Operational Manager you will be creating exciting lesson plans, timetables and resources, as well as engaging, teaching and assessing learners on the Multiply programme. You will be expected to engage, enthuse and teach to a high standard and also increase the motivation and confidence of learners in numeracy skills. We will expect you to also embed information, advice and guidance into your teaching sessions. You will need to be able to use One File (e portfolio), Skills Forward (Maths/English assessment), Kudos (Careers Advice portal).

For the initial programmes in Margate, we are looking for Tutor(s) to deliver fun, engaging and informative workshops to get learners ready for Multiply.  These workshops will be non-accredited and help to get the learners for more in depth numeracy support programmes funded through Multiply

Person specification

  • Experience of working on ESFA/devolved Adult Education Budget schemes for the unemployed/NEETs
  • Qualified Trainer/Tutor with Level 4 Award in Education and Training including Maths (Minimum) or Teaching qualification such as PCGE
  • Experience of teaching unemployed learners in numeracy and Maths or experience in functional skills delivery (maths)
  • Knowledge of the Ofsted EIF
  • Experience of using E portfolios
  • Experience of delivering numeracy qualifications
  • Experience of working with Awarding Bodies, Internal Quality Assurance staff
  • Experience of delivering careers advice/IAG
  • Able to work under pressure with a rolling monthly cohort of starts
