Full Job Description

UK-Med has an ongoing training programme in Myanmar to support emergency preparedness and pre-hospital clinical interventions. As part of this we will be undertaking trauma training for clinical staff in Bangkok during early October (9th-13th October).

The training will be for 5 days in Bangkok, with associated time for travel as well as a requirement to review the course material (2 days) pre-deployment and a small commitment (1 day) post deployment to support the completion of reporting on the deployment. It is therefore envisaged that this will have an approximate time commitment of 10 days.

UK-Med will be responsible for the cost of flights, accommodation, and a daily per-diem (whilst deployed). There will also be remuneration for the 10 days of work undertaken.

The 5-day training will cover the following topics and incorporates elements of rehabilitation which is being led by Dr April Gamble - Senior Health Advisor (REHAB):

1. Airways Chest Trauma.

2. Burns, Heat and Cold.

3. Catastrophic Haemorrhages

4. Head Injuries

5. Limb Trauma.

6. Paediatric Trauma.

7. Shock-Circulation.

8. Spinal Injuries.

9. Trauma in Pregnancy.

We are seeking a register member to support this training. You will require to have experience in teaching (ATLS, BLS etc), be a qualified Medical Doctor and have extensive trauma experience, as well the flexibility to work and develop/amend the programme in-country should this be required.
