Salary: £58,000 to 70,000 DOAE + Commissions

About the role

 

Think has a full-time sales and marketing team of 25. This comprises four sales teams responsible for selling cross-channel advertising and content marketing solutions on over 20 consumer and b2b household name brands.

Due to winning several high profile new consumer brands and the relaunch this year of Think Travel (our inbound tourism publishing company and owner of the Where Traveller brand globally) we are now looking to recruit a commercial sales leader specialising in the travel market. Our consumer sales team currently sells advertising and sponsorship in media brands reaching over 1m readers monthly across a variety of membership titles and we now need a travel media sales expert to make the most of the multi-channel opportunities we are selling across.

 

From digital advertising and virtual exhibitions to print, sponsorship and partnerships, the Think award-winning sales team currently generates in excess of £8m in revenue each year.

The successful candidate in this role would be the lead salesperson and manager of all Think’s travel advertisers and report to the Commercial Director.

The role would suit an individual who relishes a challenge, thinks strategically and innovatively about revenue generation, and has a strong track record of managing high revenue accounts.

Travel media agency and tourist board marketing contacts are essential.

 

Role Overview: 

The Travel Partnerships Director will lead all travel advertising efforts for our consumer media brands. They will devise cross-channel creative content marketing solutions, and collaborate with major consumer travel brands. Their entrepreneurial mindset will be crucial for identifying new opportunities and developing innovative products. This role requires senior-level experience in selling advertising within the consumer travel media industry.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Cross-Channel Marketing:

·      Develop and execute creative solutions for content marketing campaigns.

·      Collaborate with content marketers to ensure effective campaign briefs.

Media Planning and Buying:

·      Manage relationships with key media planning and buying agencies.

·      Ensure our magazine is included in advertising schedules for major agencies.

Revenue Generation:

·      Actively sell advertising solutions.

·      Drive significant annual revenues for our consumer portfolio.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship:

·      Spot new opportunities, such as supplements, online content hubs, and influencer marketing campaigns.

·     Develop and launch innovative products aligned with market trends.

 

Essential

 

·      At least five years’ experience selling travel advertising, sponsorship and content marketing campaigns.

·      Proven background in new business generation.

·      Proven background in cross platform sales - Print, digital and event channels.

·      Experience of managing multimillion pound portfolios.

·      Full understanding of devising, selling and delivering cross-channel content marketing campaigns and reporting in of results to advertisers and the client.
