The Curve Group is proud to be working in partnership with Tourism for All, who are currently looking to secure multiple volunteer Trustees. A Trustee at Tourism For All offers a unique chance to advocate for inclusive tourism. Your input can shape policies and initiatives, ensuring that travel is accessible to everyone. The positions at Tourism for All are pro-bono/voluntary, and part-time and would suit individuals looking to build or expand their own portfolio of organisations.


This role will serve as a member of the charity’s Board of Trustees, supporting fellow Trustees in the development and achievement of the charity’s mission, objectives, and strategy, ensuring that its goals and work:


  • Are in line with the charity’s vision and its purpose as outlined in governing documents.
  • Put the needs of the charity’s beneficiaries first and have a direct public benefit in line with charity commission guidelines.
  • Safeguard the charity’s assets – physical (including property) and intangible (including its reputation) – and employ these well and sustainably.



Who Is Tourism for All?

Tourism for All (TFA) is a small independent national charity working to improve accessibility in the tourism, travel, and leisure industry.



TFA believes that it is the right of disabled people to participate, without barriers, in all areas of community life. They believe that a more accessible tourism, travel, and leisure industry can contribute significantly to the quality of community life. Improved accessibility will allow everyone to explore new places and to enjoy and share new experiences – things that so many of us take for granted.


Key Responsibilities of The Trustee :

  • To support and ensure the effective governance and operation of the charity, in line with its vision and purpose.
  • To ensure that the charity works, to the Trustee’s satisfaction, within the legal and regulatory framework.
  • To network actively with the public and business world to maintain and continually enhance the perception, profile, and reputation of the charity, and so support the promotion and sale of the charity’s services and products.
  • To contribute expertise, help in kind, and other practical support, to an appropriate degree and based on the Trustee’s skills, experience, position, and availability, to help deliver specific projects and activities at the direction of the Chair or CEO.
  • To monitor and report conflicts of interest, where these may occur, between the charity’s objectives and activities and the Trustee’s business or personal affairs, and where appropriate to withdraw from specific discussions and decisions where such a conflict may arise.


Commitment Required of The Trustee:

  • Participation in 9 monthly video meetings (c.1 hour each) with fellow Trustees – involving reading of papers, participation in video meetings, meeting follow-up.
  • Participation in 3 face-to-face meetings (up to 3 hours each, one of which will be the charity’s Annual General Meeting) with fellow Trustees – involving reading of papers, travel to and from face-to-face meeting, participation in face to face meeting and meeting follow up.



The Successful Trustee Will Ideally Have:

  • Lived experience (first hand or through family/friends) of the effect and impact of impairment and / or access needs, and of using accessible travel and tourism products and services.

AND / OR

  • Professional experience in an area of relevance to businesses, organisations, and consumers in the accessible tourism and travel sector.
