Full Job Description

TL:DR – Minimum of 5 years’ experience within Client Service (up to ~10 years’ experience) and must have experience within Direct Lending. Please only apply if you meet these hard requirements.


Please further note, this is not a sales role and would not be suited for someone who wants to move into an ‘hardcore’ sales role. This role is more aligned with Product Marketing, Client Service, Product Specialism and Product Management.


Our Client and Role:


We are seeking a VP level candidate to work within the Product Management/Client Service function for a leading global asset manager specialised in credit and private debt strategies. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team that manages over £10 billion in assets, offering innovative solutions across various credit markets including Senior Secured Loans, Direct Lending, Structured Credit, and more.


The role is based in London and involves close collaboration with Portfolio Management, Sales, Investor Relations, Operations, and Legal/Compliance teams. Responsibilities include driving marketing initiatives, fund raising, new product development, and responding to client and consultant inquiries. The candidate will also participate in client meetings to discuss market updates, strategies, and fund performance.


About you:


  • Bachelor's degree is required, with an MBA or a professional designation such as CFA or CAIA preferred.
  • Must have experience within Direct Lending, ideally pan-European.
  • 5-10 years of experience in product management within the asset management industry, particularly in sub-investment grade credit strategies.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor team members.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio risk/return concepts; familiarity with eVestment or similar tools is a plus.
  • Expertise in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop deep knowledge of investment strategies and products.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High professionalism, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong team orientation.
  • You are a positive, upbeat individual that can converse with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing ability and previous experience of investment writing.
