The Marie Curie Distribution Centre in Nuneaton is an exciting new centre opening to support the vital work done by our Retail division. The centre will mark a new innovative way of working for Marie Curie that will make us more efficient and able to raise more vital funds needed to sustain our services. As a Warehouse Assistant volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting over 160 Marie Curie shops across the UK and enable us to provide urgent care and support for people living with terminal illness and their families.
We are looking for active and helpful volunteers who are reliable and can commit their time. The centre will process incoming stock and donations made by the public and then get these ready to be distributed out to the shops. This will support their need for a steady supply of good quality stock whilst relieving some of the workload placed upon the shops themselves. As a committed and reliable volunteer, you will be pivotal to the success of this new way of working.
As a Warehouse Assistant volunteer, you will support with processing the incoming stock including unloading and ticketing items and packing them ready for distribution. You may also be asked to arrange appointments with the public so donation drop offs can be made. This role is perfect for someone who likes to be part of a team, engage with the public both face to face and over the phone, as well as someone who likes to work to strict deadlines.
The warehouse operates Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm, we are looking for volunteers who can work within those days and times. Volunteers should be able to commit to at least one 8 hour shift a week. In return we will provide you with a variety of training and development opportunities and continued support and supervision throughout your time as a volunteer with Marie Curie.
This is an unpaid role. Over 16’s only.
