Job Description

Global Utilities Equity Analyst

London | Global Infrastructure & Renewables Equities

An established global equity investment manager is seeking a Global Utilities Equity Analyst to join its specialist Global Infrastructure & Renewables team in London.

Managing $1+ billion for a sophisticated institutional client base, the team has built a strong reputation through its medium-long-term fundamental investment approach to infrastructure and utilities investing. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative environment where analysts have genuine ownership of investment ideas and direct influence on portfolio performance.

The Role

This is a hands-on buy-side analyst seat centred on idea generation, fundamental research and stock picking. Analysts are expected to build conviction through financial analysis, present recommendations to the investment team and actively monitor holdings once they enter the portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyse listed global utilities, infrastructure and waste management companies.
  • Generate investment ideas through company meetings, conferences, industry analysis and primary research.
  • Build financial models and valuation analysis to support investment recommendations.
  • Present investment ideas and contribute to discussions around timing, sizing and portfolio composition.
  • Monitor portfolio holdings and continually reassess investment theses.

Candidate Profile

  • 4+ years' experience covering listed utilities and related sectors.
  • Strong fundamental financial analysis and valuation skills.
  • A genuine passion for investing and developing differentiated investment views.
  • A structured investment process, intellectual curiosity and the confidence to challenge consensus thinking.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Exceptional candidates with slightly less experience but outstanding sector knowledge will also be considered.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded specialist investment team where analysts are empowered to take ownership of ideas from initial research through to portfolio performance. Working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture, you'll gain exposure across the investment process while helping shape global infrastructure and utilities portfolios for leading institutional clients.
