Job Description

Financial Accountant – Permanent full‑time, hybrid (Malvern office and WFH). We are building a better future for healthcare. In this role you will support the organisation’s financial integrity by collaborating with finance, operations and leadership to ensure accurate reporting, compliance and data quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Complete monthly accounting and reconciliations for capital projects.
  • Maintain and analyse the Fixed Asset Register, monitoring capital expenditure and accurately creating new assets.
  • Perform monthly lease accounting and reconciliations in accordance with AASB16.
  • Analyse profit and loss accounts with Finance Business Partners.
  • Assist with monthly management and year‑end financial reporting.
  • Manage the Finance SharePoint site and digital forms.
Qualifications
  • CA/CPA qualified (or an equivalent recognised international qualification).
  • Minimum five years of experience in financial accounting within a complex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting, fixed assets, capital expenditure and AASB16 lease accounting.
  • Experience preparing management reports and presenting financial information to a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and financial interpretation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Strong communication, relationship‑building and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems skills; knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and not‑for‑profit accounting highly regarded.

We advocate the Quality Use of Medications which involves the safe, appropriate, effective, and cost-effective use of medications across the continuum of care.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage pharmacy inventory and stock control , including receipting, invoicing, stock rotation, expiry checking, drug returns, high-cost medication applications, and ensuring safe storage of medicines.
  • Maintain quality, safety and compliance by participating in audits, quality improvement initiatives, policy and procedure development, documentation, microbiological testing, and adherence to privacy and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee specialised pharmacy services , including PBS management, sterile and cytotoxic compounding support, clean room monitoring, Schedule 8 and 11 documentation, and maintenance of equipment and environmental standards.
  • Foster effective communication and teamwork by collaborating with pharmacists and multidisciplinary staff, maintaining professional standards, attending meetings, and ensuring compliance with Cabrini Health policies, procedures, and values.
  • Assisting in the supervision, training/mentoring of other Pharmacy Technicians.
What we’re looking for

Seeking a skilled Senior Pharmacy Technician with a minimum of three years’ experience; hospital setting is desirable.

  • Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support.
  • Competency in either PBS management / manufacturing / clinician trials or drug utilisation.
  • Aseptic and Cytotoxic manufacturing experience (an advantage).
  • Well-developed computer and communication skills.
  • The ability to work well within a team environment with sound prioritising and organisational skills.
  • Ability to maintain excellent levels of customer service.
