Are you a creative 3D Environment Artist passionate about crafting imaginative and immersive worlds? We’re looking for someone to join us and help shape the environments of our upcoming co-op ARPG for the Nintendo Switch. This project is inspired by the aesthetic of retro-futuristic animation and science-fantasy art from the late 20th century, delivering nostalgic charm paired with modern gameplay. We'd love to hear from you if you love designing worlds that captivate players!

Your Responsibilities

  • Design and create visually stunning environments for a stylised ARPG, including organic and hard-surface assets.
  • Build modular architecture kits and props to ensure efficient and cohesive world-building.
  • Optimise assets for Nintendo Switch, meeting performance requirements for poly counts, draw calls, and texture memory.
  • Collaborate closely with design and character teams to seamlessly integrate environments with gameplay.
  • Oversee outsourced assets, providing feedback and handling intake/integration as needed.
  • Conceptualise and execute unique biomes, exterior spaces, and areas that reflect the game’s vibrant aesthetic.
  • Contribute to performance optimisation efforts, ensuring smooth and engaging gameplay.

Your Profile

  • 5+ years of experience in game art, with at least 3+ years focused on environment creation.
  • Expertise in stylised, non-photorealistic environments, with a strong understanding of retro-inspired aesthetics.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools: Maya/Blender, Photoshop, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine, particularly in level performance and optimisation.
  • Ability to create PBR textures that maintain a retro-futuristic look and feel.
  • Understanding of gamepad controls and camera tuning for console games.
  • Solid knowledge of level design best practices, including modular construction and environmental storytelling.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
  • Experience working on shipped console titles, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.

Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity with lighting setups in Unreal Engine to enhance mood and atmosphere.
  • Experience in shader creation to achieve unique, retro-inspired visual effects.
  • Knowledge of VFX and particle systems to add depth and life to environments.

We are currently working on a stylised rogue-like title for a first-party platform and PC. We seek a 2D Concept Artist with a keen eye for visual storytelling, strong stylisation skills, and a deep understanding of how concept art supports real-time production. You will help define the game’s world through iconic characters, environments, and mood pieces.

Reporting to the Art Director, the ideal candidate is a visual designer and storyteller capable of delivering top-tier artwork to pre-visualise sets, develop characters, environments, and support all visual development aspects. You will also assist the Art Director by providing constructive feedback to the team.

Your Responsibilities
  • Create high-quality concepts for environments, characters, and props with a compelling sense of style, mood, and storytelling.
  • Collaborate with Art Directors, Environment Artists, and Designers to establish the visual tone of the game world.
  • Translate narrative and gameplay goals into visually engaging concepts that enhance world-building.
  • Iterate quickly on ideas, from loose sketches to refined 2D blockouts or paint overs.
  • Maintain visual consistency across different game aspects.
  • Support the art pipeline with references, visual targets, and style guides.
  • Contribute ideas to shape the game’s art direction and identity.
Your Profile
  • At least 2+ years of experience as a concept artist or a portfolio with shipped AA/AAA titles.
  • Proven ability to create environment art in a stylised style.
  • Understanding of how concept work feeds into 2D pipelines and the needs of interactive media.
  • Expertise in tools such as Photoshop or similar.
  • Strong command of colour theory, lighting, shape design, and composition.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and the autonomy to own creative challenges.
  • Experience working on rogue-like, action, or stylised titles.
  • A gamer with a solid grasp of current industry trends and player expectations.
  • Fluent in English at a business level, comfortable working remotely.

As a Senior Game Developer, you’ll be at the heart of crafting exceptional multiplayer experiences. You will work closely with a talented team of developers, designers, and artists to build robust systems, optimize performance, and deliver seamless networked gameplay. Your expertise will drive critical aspects of our technology stack, ensuring players enjoy smooth, immersive, and memorable experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Architect, implement, and refine cutting‑edge multiplayer‑ready gameplay systems in and outside of the Unreal Engine
  • Produce elegant, efficient, and maintainable C++ code
  • Leverage expert‑level understanding of data structures and algorithms to solve interesting challenges
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative gameplay experiences
  • Contribute to the development of scalable and robust networking solutions
  • Tackle and resolve intricate technical hurdles in complex multiplayer games
Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • 6+ years of experience in the Unreal Engine
  • Experience with at least one proprietary game engine (C/C++ OOP/ECS)
  • Deep understanding of Client‑Server Game Architecture (e.g. Client‑side prediction, Server reconciliation, Lag compensation, Entity Interpolation etc.)
  • Excellent C++ programming skills, including proficiency in modern C++ standards (C++17 and C++20) and their application in diverse contexts beyond Unreal Engine, such as systems programming, network programming, etc.
  • Deep expertise in common data structures and algorithms (DSA)
  • Experience with Online Services (e.g. GBaaS solutions such as Azure Playfab, AccelByte AGS, Custom Game Backend Integration/Development, Toxicity Management Platforms, etc.)
  • Experience with UE’s Gameplay Abilities System (GAS)
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Experience with Entity Component Systems (ECS) (e.g. flecs.dev)
  • Experience with AI (Behaviour Trees, State Trees, UtilityAI Systems)
  • Experience with one or more Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
  • Familiarity with scripting languages and tools development (e.g. Lua, Python, Javascript)
